Ice Damage!

Here is what happened to our house..

What you can NOT see in these pictures is where the electrical poles (yes I did say poles too) and lines snapped.

We are home!

We are home! YAYYY

Power is back on! I am doing laundry, dishes, etc.. Oh it is great!

I have one more thing to do on my project for QP and it is done! WOO HOOO!

I also finished my paper for QP yesterday! YAYYYY.. Now I just have to get the final copies printed out and I am all ready! YAYYY

Ice Storm!

Well in the last several days we have gotten about 2 to 3 inches of ice here.. Downed trees, downed power lines, the whole bit!

We are out of power.

They are saying it may be a month before we get power back to the houses.

We have a generator and are staying over at my brother and sister in law's house. They have a wood stove and we are all banding together..

We do have the laptop with us, so I can get on line maybe once a day and I will do my best to keep everyone up to date.

We are fine, all the animals are fine too. We are taking care of them and ourselves.

Other things

There are a lot of other things going on in my life right now, so I may not be posting as much as I have been..

There are some problems that need to be taken care of. And my time and attention need to be on those and nothing else.

Project for Queen's Prize

Well I am officially halfway done with my Calligraphy project! YAYYY

A few more days and I will have it completely done! Then all I have to do is finish my paper--YUCK!

Morning Problems

What a morning I have had and it isn't even 8am yet!

I have to go run errands so I went out to start the car and checked on the sheep.

Well, we have a hay feeder out for the boys and it is metal with wire squares. Well Bert (my white sheep) had his head caught in one of the squares and could not get loose! Ernie (the black sheep) in the meantime was trying to jump all over Bert..

So I ran out and tried to get him loose with no luck.. So I ran back in the house, grabbed the phone and called Michael at work. I am frantic at this point and Michael came home (poor Michael, he had to leave work and come deal with all this).

While I was waiting for Michael I went racing back out to the sheep pen to stay by Bert to a)keep him calm and b) keep Ernie from trying to pummel him..

Michael came home and he had him loose in about a min, Thank God.

All is well, Bert is fine, no problems at all. Course he has all that wool around his neck, so none of the wire was even touching his skin or anything like that. At first I was afraid the only way to get him loose was to clip down the wool around his neck so he could squeeze back out.. I am glad we didn't have to do that.. Not because I care if that wool was gone for my sake, but it would affect him with it being cold.

So my morning has been a bit crazy! I just hope the rest of my day goes better.

Calligraphy Project

Well things are going pretty well with my Calligraphy project!

Though the other night I sat and did figures and swore up and down and threw things!

I am not good at math, nor measurments of any kind.. And I had forgotten that the way you have to set this up on the page, is that it starts in the middle on both sides and works it way outward.. ARGGG

So I had to find my center point, then figure out exactly how big the writing was gonna end up being and go from there..

Michael finally helped me figure it out after listening to me yell for about an hour! Oh I was mad!

But it is figured out now! YAYYY..

Now all I have do is start writing! and I have figured out that it will take me about two days to complete the project.. Cause I have to write the contract out twice..

I am almost done! YAYYYY

And then I have to put it up somewhere safe until the end of January!

Well it is the start of a brand new year!

Michael had to work yesterday, and then he had to go to work on a house today, so we didn't do anything special last night..

We fell asleep about 10:30 I guess.

I know, I know, we are both just old fuddy duddys!
